The following papers are in the main too recent to have been included in the numbering scheme for the Collected Papers. One of the most fascinating is number XII which is the latest in a series of papers resulting from a long term study on hypertension and cardiovascular disease in African Americans. To date the research team involved in this study has received US$18 million from the US National Institiutes of Health to further their research.

Since 1994, Mozambique has been enjoying peace. This is a direct result of an initiative by the Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff. In a population where tensions were running high after more than a decade of civil war, a freshly negotiated peace treaty could easily collapse. The Chiefs of Staff therefore implemented a new strategy to secure the peace group practice of Transcendental Meditation by 16,000 military personnel.VII In fact, this innovation reduced tensions so much that peacekeeping troops were withdrawn soon after its introduction.
